DIY Bathroom Deodorizer

Good day darlings!  Today, I will be sharing another cheap trick with you.  I want my bathroom always clean and fresh-smelling.  In my opinion, a home with a clean bathroom reflects a person's cleanliness.  If your bathroom is clean, you must be a very tidy person who runs that place.  They also say that when you have guests coming to your home and you do not have the time to clean your whole house, the first or only room you must clean is your bathroom because it is the only place in your home where guests can be alone and notice little details, ehem, dirt.  So, today, I want to share with you a simple chemical-free recipe I use to make our bathroom smelling fresh and clean that is both environment and budget friendly.
DIY Bathroom Deodorizer

You will need the following materials:
1.  Food color of your choice
2.  Baking soda
3.  Essential oil of your choice (I used tea tree oil)
4.  A small spoon
5.  An empty container

First, get your container.  You must choose a container with a lid that has some holes on it.  This old salt and pepper shaker would be perfect for this project.  Remove the lid then get a piece of paper and turn it into a cone and place the baking soda inside the container.

Next, get the essential oil of your choice.  I got this tea tree oil at hand so I used it for this recipe.  You can also use lavender or vanilla or even mix essential oils and make a unique scent.  For this recipe, I placed 10 drops of tea tree oil inside the container.

This next step is only optional but I like my deodorizer looking pretty so I went ahead and placed two drops of blue food color and one drop of green food color.

Mix all ingredients using a small spoon.  I really love how the color turned out.  Just stir until all ingredients are well combined and the color is evenly distributed.DIY Bathroom Deodorizer

You're bathroom deodorizer is now done.  Place it inside your bathroom.  When the scent fades, you will need to shake the contents occasionally to release more scent.  TIP:  If you do not have essential oils, you can use perfumes of your choice but note that the smell would not last as long as essential oils.  Also, since this deodorizer has holes on it, after I do my business and flush the toilet, I just sprinkle some on the toilet bowl. :)

Have fun doing this DIY.  Have a fabulous week ahead!

  1. This is a great idea! There's some baking soda lying round the house, I just need essential oils. Any idea where I can get them? I would prefer peppermint and/or citrus scents. Thanks in advance! :)

  2. This is so easy to do. We almost have all the materials needed except for the essential oil. Will surely do this when we already have an essential oil. :D

  3. You always come up with the best DIYs that are really simple and affordable. I'll have to test this out because I don't really like the deodorizers that I've found at stores since they don't do a very good job at deodorizing.

  4. Another great DIY! I was supposed to buy a cherry scented castle days ago pero ang mahal. Hehe. Might try this one at home. Tapos parang ayoko nang bumili ng mga air fresheners kasi di ba may mga particles yun. Tapos nakita ko pwede pang mag cause ng sakit2 or cancer. Di advisable daw. Thanks for this!

  15. Another really cool idea! But you are right, a clean bathroom that smells good is a must and it shows and says a lot about the person.
The first reason I bought asian skin care and cosmetics was because of the packaging. Of course that when i realized the products worked wonders for my skin, I got addicted!
