Good day dear readers! To beat the summer heat, I made a simple but refreshing concoction. You all know by now that my favorite drink is green tea but because it is too hot to drink tea during these days, I decided to make some iced green tea and it turned out great. I love how I can still enjoy the benefits of green tea with this cool drink. Even my mom and husband became instant fans. It's not too sweet, a bit tangy, delicious, cool, and healthy, perfect for hot summer days.
For this recipe, we will need the following:
1. Fresh lemons
2. Green tea bags
3. Honey
We will also need water and ice.
First, get about a cup of water and bring it to a rapid boil. Once it reaches boiling point, turn off the heat. For this recipe, we only need a small amount of hot water just enough to steep our tea.
Next, get your green tea bags. I used two tea bags for a pitcher's worth of iced green tea. You can use more if you want your tea to be taste stronger or you can just steep your tea longer than usual. Wait until the water turns very dark amber. Add a fourth cup honey to your concentrated tea and stir.
While waiting, get your lemons. Wash them thoroughly the slice horizontally, about a fourth of an inch thick. Set these aside.
Now, it's time for assembly. Get a pitcher. Fill it with water, about two-thirds full. Place our concentrated tea mixture. Add the lemon slices and crushed ice. Stir and adjust according to your taste if necessary. I left the tea bags on the pitcher for a little while just because I wanted the color to be darker.
Now, serve and enjoy this healthy and refreshing drink!
Hope you enjoy today's simple recipe!
Good luck and have fun!
