I have been craving for potatoes these past few days when I saw this scalloped potato recipe on YouTube. It was pretty interesting and I thought I could try that. The problem is, I don't have an oven. I have a small oven toaster but I don't think that would work because I can't control the temperature, then I thought, wait! Main ingredient: Potatoes. I have a microwave oven that says "potatoes" on it, and I said, "Oh, maybe that will do." I've tried baked potatoes on my microwave before so that should do the trick. I also tweaked the recipe a bit because I want some kick on my potatoes. I think this would be great with inihaw or roasted chicken, but I ate mine as a snack, hee hee!
Here's what you'll need.
1. Potatoes
2. Grated parmesan cheese
3. Chili powder
4. Garlic
5. Evaporated milk or whole milk (I saw this one at the supermarket, it was a new product so I thought this would be perfect for this recipe).
6. Nutmeg (Oops! I peeled off the label)
7. A couple of bay leaves
8. Ground black pepper
That's it. The ingredients may seem too many, but trust me, this will work ;)
Start by thinly cutting the potatoes into 1/8-inch thick slices.
Get a clean bowl and start to layer your potatoes with grated garlic and parmesan cheese.
In a separate bowl, mix the milk, a little bit chili (adjust accordingly), bay leaves, ground black pepper, and nutmeg.

Pour this mixture over your layered potatoes.
Add more of the powder spices on top.

Place into the microwave oven.
Set your timer on high for five minutes.
After five minutes, check your potatoes. It should start bubbling at this point.
Set your timer again for another two 5-minute intervals, totaling 15 minutes cooking time and you are done!

hello sis, pwede bang wala nang nutmeg? or meron bang alternative? :) i have na kasi yung mga ingredients, maliban sa nutmeg. super malaki kaya difference ng lasa if wala? Gusto ko sana kasi itry later pagdating sa bahay. :D nag crave ako bigla.
